Guwahati to Bomdila
The drive via Tezpur and Bhalukpong up to Bomdila. A long first day of around 9 to 10 hours.
Overnight: Bomdila -
Bomdila to Tawang
Over Sela Pass with a stop at the lake and Jaswantgarh, arriving in Tawang by evening.
Overnight: Tawang -
Tawang Monastery and town
Tawang Monastery, Urgelling and the war memorial, with time to walk through the town.
Overnight: Tawang -
Bumla Pass
The road to the border at Bumla Pass, which needs a permit and good weather. We confirm both before we set out.
Overnight: Tawang -
Madhuri Lake and the high lakes
Sangetsar (Madhuri) Lake and the other high-altitude lakes around Tawang, depending on snow and road condition.
Overnight: Tawang -
Tawang to Dirang
The return drive over Sela Pass to Dirang for a quiet evening in the valley.
Overnight: Dirang -
Dirang to Tezpur
Down the hill road through Bomdila and Bhalukpong to Tezpur.
Overnight: Tezpur -
Tezpur to Guwahati
The final drive and drop at Guwahati airport or railway station.
