Choosing between an Ertiga and an Innova Crysta
This is the question we field most often, so here is the honest answer. Both seat six passengers plus a driver. The Innova Crysta gives you more legroom in the third row, a larger boot and a softer ride over rough patches, and it costs more per day. The Ertiga gives you nearly the same capacity at a lower rate.
Take the Ertiga if
Your group is five or six people, your trip is two to four days, and at least one of the six is a child. The third row of an Ertiga is comfortable for children and fine for adults on shorter runs. For a Shillong, Cherrapunji and Dawki circuit it handles everything the route asks of it.
Take the Innova Crysta if
You have six adults, a week-long itinerary, heavy luggage, or a long haul such as Shillong to Kaziranga or into Arunachal Pradesh. On those trips the extra space and the smoother ride are worth the difference, particularly for older travellers.
Luggage planning
With all seven seats occupied the boot takes two or three soft bags. Six people with six suitcases will not fit, and we will tell you that upfront rather than send a vehicle that leaves you repacking on the pavement. In that case we suggest the Innova Crysta or a Tempo Traveller.
