What a sedan taxi in Shillong is actually like
The Swift Dzire is the workhorse of taxi fleets across the Northeast, and for good reason. It is compact enough to turn around on a narrow hill road, comfortable enough for a four hour run, and cheap enough to run that the fare stays reasonable. For two people doing a Shillong to Cherrapunji day trip, it is almost always the sensible booking.
Luggage, realistically
Two large suitcases go in the boot with cabin bags on the rear seat, or three medium bags if you pack softer luggage. If you are four adults with four suitcases on a multi-day trip, tell us and we will suggest an Ertiga or an Innova Crysta instead. We would rather move you up a category than have you uncomfortable for a week.
Airport transfers
Shillong Umroi Airport is about 35 km out and takes roughly an hour. Guwahati airport is around 123 km and needs three to three and a half hours depending on traffic through Jorabat. For either, give us your flight number when booking. If the flight is delayed we adjust the pickup rather than charging waiting time.

Call or WhatsApp with your date, pickup point and destination. We confirm the vehicle and quote a fare that includes fuel and the driver. You get the driver's name and number before the trip so you are never waiting on a general helpline.
