Guwahati to Kaziranga
Pickup from Guwahati and a drive of about 4.5 to 5 hours to Kaziranga National Park.
Overnight: Kaziranga -
Safari, then on to Bomdila
An early jeep safari in the park, then the drive into Arunachal Pradesh via Tezpur and Bhalukpong up to Bomdila. A long day of about 7 hours on the road.
Overnight: Bomdila -
Bomdila to Tawang over Sela Pass
Dirang, the high Sela Pass and the war memorial at Jaswantgarh on the way to Tawang. Expect around 7 hours, with weather stops at the pass.
Overnight: Tawang -
Tawang town
Tawang Monastery, one of the largest in India, the Urgelling monastery and the war memorial. We keep the day light because of the altitude.
Overnight: Tawang -
Bumla Pass and Madhuri Lake
A day out to the border side of Tawang and the lake at Sangetsar. Both depend on road and weather conditions and on the permits for the day.
Overnight: Tawang -
Tawang to Dirang
The drive back over Sela Pass to Dirang, with time for the apple orchards and the hot springs.
Overnight: Dirang -
Dirang to Guwahati
A very long driving day of around 10 to 11 hours, so we leave early. We can break the journey at Tezpur or Nameri if you prefer.
Overnight: Guwahati -
Guwahati to Shillong
The drive up to Shillong (about 3 hours), with Umiam Lake on the way and an evening at Police Bazar.
Overnight: Shillong -
Shillong and Cherrapunji
Cherrapunji's waterfalls and caves in the day, with Shillong Peak or the city sights on the way back.
Overnight: Shillong -
Drop at Guwahati
The drive back to Guwahati airport or railway station, with a buffer for your flight or train.
